En effet,&nbsp;<strong>10 \u00e0 20% de la population adulte est concern\u00e9e par la constipation chronique<\/strong>. De plus, les femmes sont deux fois plus touch\u00e9es que les hommes et jusqu\u2019\u00e0 70% des personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es, vivant en institution, souffrent de constipation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Occasionnelle ou chronique, de nombreux moyens existent pour limiter le risque de constipation. En effet les efforts de pouss\u00e9e ont un impact d\u00e9l\u00e9t\u00e8re sur la sph\u00e8re pelvi-p\u00e9rin\u00e9ale, et pourraient \u00eatre&nbsp;<strong>une des causes possibles des troubles pelviens<\/strong>, tels que la descente d\u2019organe ou les fuites urinaires, ou en tous cas en \u00eatre un&nbsp;<strong>facteur aggravant<\/strong>. Et pourtant, la plupart des patients pr\u00e9sentant ce trouble ne s\u2019en plaignent pas n\u00e9cessairement en consultation. Cette \u00e9vacuation des selles est possible gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la coordination de contractions l\u00e9g\u00e8res et profondes des muscles abdominaux et d\u2019une relaxation compl\u00e8te des muscles du p\u00e9rin\u00e9e. Parmi les muscles qui composent le p\u00e9rin\u00e9e, le muscle pubo-rectal forme une sangle autour du rectum, sa contraction augmente l\u2019angle entre le rectum et l\u2019anus et participe ainsi \u00e0 la continence. Lorsque ce dernier se rel\u00e2che, l\u2019angle ano-rectal dispara\u00eet. Le sphincter anal aide \u00e0 garder les selles \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur du rectum jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ce qu\u2019il y ait une d\u00e9cision consciente d\u2019aller \u00e0 la selle.
